With this service, we are filling an essential need for transfers between Vial CCAC and medical facilities.
In the past, other charities on the island offering free transportation for scheduled appointments at medical facilities, but by the beginning of 2022 they had all left, leaving a gap in provisions. Doctors have stressed how important is that the people make it to their appointments, especially the regular appointments. For example, for pregnant women there is only one gynecologist at the hospital, so if the appointment is missed it will have to be rescheduled 15 days later. In the case of emergencies Offene Arme reacts immediately.
With the help of generous donors, we are now able to help asylum seekers and refugees have access to these vital service. We are in continuous need of support for this project as it is expensive to run, but we believe it is essential in helping the most vulnerable inside of Vial CCAC.
